The chemistry course includes mixtures, solutions, solvents, Tyndall effect, polar and nonpolar solvents, water testing, chemical reactivity of metals, using the Bayer test, reagents, esters, titration, observing effects of radiation, using a cloud chamber and much much more.

Commonly. in public schools, 10th graders take Biology as the "last" lab science.  However, students planning on a technical field or with a high level of interest in Science will want to take Chemistry also.

This course is generall recommended for Junior level students or higher.  As with all of our courses, this is just a recommendation and some students may take is at a younger age if you believe they are ready for it.

Students should have completed Algebra before taking Chemistry.  Additionally your student(s) should have taken a Biology or Physical Science course before Chemistry.  It is strongly advised that they be familiar with lab techniques and terminology before taking Chemistry.

Chemistry students are expected do independent reading as necessary, learn vocabulary and keep a lab notebook.  Students are expected to follow the written instructions for labs.  Students in Chemistry get to use highly technical equipment such as precise triple beam balances, burettes, cloud chambers.  They also are sent and dozens and dozens of chemicals.

All of our courses except for Topics I and II have three versions available for purchase.  The standard course is roughly equivalent to what you will find in typical high school labs.  There are 14 labs which equates to about one lab every other week of a school year including breaks.  The deluxe course is designed for advanced students, students planning on science related fields, college prep students and simply those students that love Science.  We highly recommend the deluxe course as it is quite comprehensive including 30 labs or about one lab per week.  We also offer a short course which is essentially a sampler.  This gives you an opportunity to test a very scaled down version of our product for two months and covers 6 labs.  By its very design, the cost per lab is a bit higher and the experience is not nearly as complete as one of our other courses.

The standard and deluxe courses also have refill kits available to allow for up to four students total to take the course and divide the cost.  Please click the links to the left to review syllabi and complete parts list for each course.

To order, you will need to click on the order form at the top of every page and print it out.  This is because we need a physical signature on the disclaimer form at the bottom of the order form.  Thanks for understanding that we can not accept online orders.

Pricing below is the fee per month for nine months except for the short course which is a one time only fee.
